Our Pooch Policies

Small to medium-sized dogs may be welcomed at Treghan by prior arrangement. As owners of our corgi, Codie, we understand how difficult it can be to find somewhere peaceful and comfortable to stay when travelling with your dog.

To ensure the best experience for all guests, we have one designated retreat available for guests travelling with dogs.

Guidelines for Guests Travelling With Dogs

• Dogs must weigh no more than 15kg.
• Dogs must be fully house trained and well behaved.
• Puppies are not permitted.
• Dogs are welcome inside, provided they are kept off furniture and bedding.
• Dogs must remain on a leash or harness while outside on the property.
• Treghan is surrounded by native bush and birdlife, including kiwi in nearby areas, so protecting wildlife is extremely important.
• Dogs should not be left alone in the guesthouse while guests are out.
• Guests are asked to clean up after their dog during their stay.
• A nightly pet cleaning fee applies, depending on length of stay.
• One retreat only is available for guests travelling with dogs, subject to availability.
• On arrival, guests may be asked to sign a simple pet waiver.

To help ensure a relaxed arrival for everyone, we kindly ask guests to leave their dog in the car until reaching their guesthouse. A short stop before arriving at Treghan is also recommended after travelling.

We reserve the right to decline or withdraw pet stays where these conditions are not observed.
