We want you to feel secure and comfortable during your stay. To help you prepare for your stay at Treghan Lodge here is a breakdown of what you can expect from the check-in experience to check out. In all areas, hand sanitiser is available for all staff, delivery drivers, and contractors at entry points to Treghan Lodge. Each team member has access to hand sanitiser, protective face masks, disposable gloves, tissues and disinfectant sprays.
Our team has been trained in how to assist you if you become unwell during your stay and additional cleaning, sanitizing measures will be put in place. If you start to feel unwell during your stay, please isolate yourself in your room and call us.

Global Safe Travel Stamp and COVID Ready Badge
The World Travel and Tourism Council established the world’s first ever global safety and hygiene stamp to provide COVID safety recognition for travellers and the tourism trade. This has been adopted by over 400 countries globally including New Zealand.
This Safe Travels stamp allows travellers to recognise destination authorities and companies around the world that have implemented health and hygiene protocols that are aligned with WTTC’s Global Safe Travels Protocols.
Treghan have been awarded the Safe Travels Stamp through the Tourism Export Council of New Zealand (TECNZ). As well we have been recognised by TECNZ’s COVID Ready Programme and enabled to use the COVID Ready badge.
Treghan are also members of the Travel Industry Association Aotearoa and the Bed & Breakfast Association of New Zealand. As in previous years Treghan has been awarded the Travellers Choice Best of the Best for 2023.
We do take the well being and safety of our guests and our team working here very seriously and are constantly seeking improvements and information to help everyone stay healthy and secure.
Treghan Surestay Programme
With private guesthouses, Treghan are able to ensure certainty for guests. Each guest house is totally self contained, so we are able to provide easy physical distancing as well as best industry practice in hygiene and sanitising.
We have always maintained very high standards of cleanliness (check out our TripAdvisor reviews) but we have now introduced our Treghan Surestay Programme.
This means we:
- Conduct full sanitising of all touchable services, such as counter tops
- Provide hand sanitiser in each guesthouse for the use of guests
- Deep clean high touch surfaces such as door handles, taps, light switches
- Use the Zoono Microbe Shield** surface sanitiser as a final mist spray on all surfaces following cleaning
- Completely change bed linen and bathroom linen after every guest
- Offer additional towels and amenities in each guest house, if you prefer, as an alternative to servicing
- Do not provide facilities for people who require self isolation.
If guests wish us to, we will wear masks in any interaction with you.
Booking and Cancellation
We are offering flexible booking arrangements during these uncertain times. Please review our normal booking conditions and policies for more information.
